Wish List for Schools is a fantastic opportunity for teachers to inspire and motivate children in learning about the communities that Save the Children work with, and how a tangible difference can be made through fundraising. The Wish List can be used at any time in the school year, however below are some handly hints and useful tips about how to incorporate the Wish List during the harvest and Christmas period.
Wish List for Harvest
This year we are inviting you to take part in our Wish List for Harvest. Your school can fundraise in whatever way they wish, whether it be a mufti day, cake sale or a talent show! With the money you raise you can select from a range of gifts with a harvest theme, and every gift you buy will go straight to help a family or community somewhere in the world where this time of year can be really tough.
We have a range of educational resources demonstrating how the Wish List and the Harvest pack can be used to support the curriculum. Every school that takes part will receive a personalised thank you from us, along with a wish certificate with information about the gifts you have chosen.
Wish List for Harvest Lesson Ideas – This is where you'll find all our suggestions on how the Wish List for Harvest can be used in the classroom.
Wish List Case Studies - These case studies are a great educational resource, the lesson plans have some ideas for how you could use them but be creative and do whatever you want – or just print them out for the classroom wall!
Additionally, every school that takes part in our Wish List for Harvest promotion will be entered into a draw and one lucky school will receive a visit from our special giant Plumpy nut and a Save the Children speaker. Our speaker can give a talk about the work of Save the Children, and you can decide whether you want the talk in the form of an assembly to a whole school, or a workshop with one class. Your pupils will get the chance to find out how your valuable donations are being used, and the enormous difference they are making!

Wish List for Christmas

This year we are inviting you to take part in our Wish List for Christmas. Christmas is a great time to fundraise. There are all kinds of things your school could do - making cards and selling them to parents, pantomimes, carol concerts, plays, parties and many more! With the money you raise why not buy gifts from our Wish List Christmas pack and give a wonderful gift to a child somewhere in the world where this time of year can be really tough?
We have a range of educational resources demonstrating how the Wish List and the Christmas pack can be used to support the curriculum. It’s a great opportunity to teach about the lives of children around the world and to brighten up their Christmas! If you want to give a gift closer to home, you can buy a school trip for a child in the UK who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity. Every school that buys gifts from the Wish List will receive a personalised thank you from us, along with a wish certificate with information about the gifts you have chosen.
